Discouraging: players should get a flu shot. (Yes, I get one every year.)
What Cam has is probably not influenza, which is what a flu shot protects against. Influenza doesn't generally cause vomiting or diarrhea. Illnesses that people call "stomach flu" and have those symptoms generally are something else.

Your flu is not like mine. Aggregate reports of symptoms tell you nothing about individual responses.

Everyone should be well rested for Sunday. Most minutes played was 25 by Haley, then 23 by Hannah and Telana.
High point scorer in a 92 point game was Haley with 17, all in 1st half --, what great scoring distribution. Stanford was a true multi headed monster today. Same with rebounding, a assists, blocks...

Yeah, but we are not talking about your flu; we’re talking about Cameron Brink’s, and for all we know, she did get her flu shot and has something else.
Tony is right though, you should get your flu shot yearly. But it might not prevent you from getting a GI illness.

Of course, there’s always Chipotle to consider… :-)

Thanks, BC. That was my point. No offense meant to Tony.
Not really relevant, but I had a nasty case of influenza A (tested positive for it) late last year despite the flu shot. Also, I got a rash with it although that's not a common symptom. I'm certainly going to keep getting the shot every year anyway.

Ole Miss looked pretty solid. I’m a little nervous. We need Cam back.

Yeah, and considering our second-game-of-the-weekend track record . . .

If memory serves, probably won't be announced until all games tonight conclude (and I think next-round times usually get posted the next day after the first games of each weekend). So we should likely know tomorrow.
ESPN is posting a 6:30 pacific game time, final game of the day on ESPN. I see that 81alum has already updated the preview thread.

I thought it was plagued by pretty bad calls from the start. My favorite missed call was the hack against a Betts goal that was (unintentionally) highlighted in a TV replay deep in the 2nd half.
Maybe when we win by so much, the officiating doesn't seem so obvious.

Pretty much everyone had a really good game. That's what a 1-16 game should usually feel like. But now it is back to work.

Tara commented in the presser that part of situation in moving from the 1st to the 2nd quarter was adjusting to the officiating.
This seems to have been a bigger deal this year than in some past years--not that the officiating is horrible one way or the other (you could say it has always been horrible) but that the variance between tightly called and loosely called games has expanded, requiring much bigger adjustments. You just don't know what kind of basketball game you will be playing until you sound out the refs for a quarter.

Thank you for that, hearing from the Sacred Heart point-of-view was interesting. I was particularly interested when Pryor said the game plan was to play off Jones, but that Jones adjusted and took it to the basket. I guess that means they wanted to turn her into a jump shooter and it didn't work. And when driving, the fact that she can finish with both hands and go either way was noted. We may need Jones to continue driving in our next game.

Thanks so much for posting this. I find the pride the players and coach express not only moving but really refreshing. They lost the game as far as the scoreboard goes, but for them it was a win to be there and participate. They appreciate themselves and their accomplishments, appreciate each other, and will leave Stanford with good memories. Wow, what an example they set as far as attitude. Go Sacred Heart. I'll be cheering from them to succeed next season.

I just realized that 43 points is the second largest margin of victory ever by a Stanford Women's Basketball team in the NCAA tournament. The largest was a 52-point 1st round victory vs Howard in 1997 (111-59). The next year was the infamous 1st round loss vs Harvard. Source:

To be fair, Howard should have been given an extra 10 points just by having a the best band.
