Since 2000, how many lefty NFL kickers have made at least one field goal?
Of the top 20 kickers in the NFL (in all-time FG made), how many are lefties?

Literally no idea. The only two I'm aware of are Sebastian Janikowski and Morten Andersen.

Frankie Albert made an XP kicking for the 49ers. Normally the punter. He was a left footer kicker left footed place kicker. Thank you Phogge

So, Sauls is the seventh NFL lefty kicker invited to the combine. Previous invites:
Florida State kicker Sebastian Janikowski, 2000
BYU kicker Owen Pochman, 2001
Oklahoma kicker Tim Duncan, 2002
UCLA kicker Justin Medlock, 2007
Wisconsin kicker Taylor Mehlhaff, 2008
Louisville kicker Art Carmody, 2008 (but Carmody never made a 53-man roster)
Left-footed kickers not invited to the Combine who've made a field goal since 2000: Morten Andersen, John Kasay, Joe Nedney, David Akers, Bill Gramatica, Ricky Schmitt, Giorgio Tavecchio, so that's another 7. But wait, in addition to those, some lefty non-place kickers have kicked a field goal (Frankie Albert was before 2000): Micah Knorr (who is a punter), Wes Welker (who is a wide receiver) and Jamie Gillan (who is a punter).
So that gets us to 15 lefties who have kicked a field goal since 2000. The total number of players to make a field goal during that time frame is 181, making the share of left-footed field goal makers just 8.28%, including 3 who weren't even kickers.
As for all timers on the list: Andersen is second all-time in made field goals. Kasay is seventh, Janikowski eleventh, Akers eighteenth, so despite making 8% of kickers to make a field goal in the last 20 years, they make up 20% of the all-time top 20.

I wonder how difficult it is for a holder to switch sides for the hold, if it is not trivial, I could see a team not going with a left footed placekicker unless they were convinced they were a real improvement over the right footed alternatives

Great guess. It was Phil Niekro, Yankees, last day of 1985 season against the 99-62 Toronto Blue Jays. He was 46. Best part, he didn't throw any knuckleballs...all change ups, sliders and curveballs.

It was a pretty good guess. I looked it up and Paige also threw a shutout at age 46 - but 46 years, 1 month vs. 46 years, 5 months for Niekro.

Actually, we're both wrong. Jamie Moyer threw a complete game, two-hit shutout at age 47, 170 days. So much for believing everything I read on the internet...

March 7 is the Arnold Palmer Invitational, the next Signature event on the PGA Tour. March 14 is the Players Championship, and the Masters is the first Major tournament, held April 11.
Today's trivia is about the major golf tournaments. Recent technological improvements have resulted in a low score of 62 in a major by five golfers. Two of them had the same score on the same day, two more had the same score in the same tournament. Who were they?
Prior to 2017 at the open at Royal Birkdale,
30 golfers shared the same majors single-round scoring record of 63, first by Johnny Miller at the 1973 US Open at Oakmont. There are
32 players listed below. Which two did
not shoot a 63 in a major?
Aoki, Bjorn, Bradley, Broadhurst, Crampton, Dufner, Faldo, Faxon, Fleetwood, Floyd, Hayes, Koepka, McIlroy, Mickelson, Miller, Mudd, Nicklaus, Norman, Olazabal, O'Meara, Palmer, Player, Price, Shwartzel, Singh, Stenson, Stewart, Stricker, Thomas, Watson, Weiskopf, Woods
And here's a little bit of interesting Nicklaus/Woods trivia: Tiger Woods won the tournament in each of Nicklaus' last starts in the four majors: 2000 U. S. Open, 2000 PGA, 2005 Masters, 2005 Open Championship.

Schauffele and Rickie Fowler had 62s in the first round of the 2023 US Open at LACC.
Schauffele (1st round) and Shane Lowry (3rd round) had 62s at the 2024 PGA at Valhalla.

Speaking of which, Rickie Fowler and Jordan Spieth have been denied entry to this year's API. They both played last year, finishing 36th and 30th. Stanford's Patrick Rodgers finished 25th last year, also not invited, nor are there any other Stanford alums.

McNealy is currently 7th in PGA points, Rodgers is 17th. I believe that both are qualifiers to Signature events:

A few years back, it was Kyle Shanahan, and he is paid the second-most of any coach who hasn't won a championship in their sport.
Today, it is Jim Harbaugh at $16 million per year. His Super Bowl-winning brother John makes $12 million.
BTW, there are a
lot of coaches who make between $10 mms. and $16 mms. per year that have won a single championship in a lengthy career; e.g., Doc Rivers, Tyronn Lue.
