He's telling them they flat-out sucked in the first half but are only down 9 points. Don't need to panic, but we need to come out and play Stanford football. Dominate the line of scrimmage. Get the run game going. Play stifling defense.

Easier said than done. Plus with the awful weather. I'm hopeful though.

On the positive side, we are down by single digits despite our atrocious offense. Our defense has been able to bend, but not break, but I am unsure how long we can keep that up.
On the down side, Hogan looks lost and McCaffrey has been stymied. Most everything that could go wrong has gone wrong.
It's a long football season and you're not going to play your best every time out. It's all roses when McCaffrey is running through blocks and Hogan's connecting on every throw, but it's times like these that reveals the true character of the team. This team needs to get its act together in the locker room and buckle down in the second half. Dig deep and win ugly. It's not going to be pretty in a rainstorm in a hostile environment against a pumped-up opponent, but you have to find that extra push.

This isn't even about Hogan or McCaffrey.
This is about the O-Line looking soft and getting beat in every phase of the game.Â
Honestly there's no reason to think the O-Line is going to come out of the locker room and suddenly play differently. The coaches can only say so much. This is going to come down to the 5 guys on that O-Line.Â
I hope they prove me wrong.Â

The unfortunate reality is WSU is playing with way more passion and intensity than Stanford. The Stanford OL is being humiliated. It all starts there. But Hogan has to make better decisions, run to escape pressure, and throw the ball away as well.

We know the o-line is talented, and we know our offense can put up points.
We aren't losing to a more talented team. Hopefully our coaches can remind the players of that.

Well we need to do something to neutralize the aggression of their front seven. The problem is we've tried the things that typically do that and they haven't worked.
But at the same time, we're only down 9 points after all that garbage. If we can get some breaks (and, note, their QB was gimpy that last drive, a couple more hits might have him seeing ghosts) then we can be right back in it.

This is exactly right. The line has been horrific but Hogan has certainly not helped himself by being indecisive and holding the ball too long.

Also looks like the rain is going to slow and maybe stop in the second half. Unsure if that's good or bad for us, but there it is.

Also, I just want to apologize for that first half- I didn't have my lucky hat and jersey on. I've corrected that error. I expect things to turn around.

Gut check time. If this is a Championship team (Pac-12 and/or National), then they need to prove it in the next 30 minutes on the football field.

HAhaha oh man Leach....I just wish he was still in the Big 12.

This is a very important defensive series. If we don't stop them on the opening drive, I don't think we will be able to score the 16 points to win.
Kicking it out of bounds doesn't help.

Let's put five yard bubbles around Falk's receivers. That should do the trick.

That was a very important pass breakup by Harris. Still, down 12 points. We need to fix that offense on THIS drive.

This drive is the game in my mind. Hopefully we are sharp and fired up.
