Jury's is still way out on that one. It's one thing to interview it's another to offer him the job. Muir knows that he is going to be judged to a fair extent by this hire.

The issue isn't whether he knows he will be judged to a fair extent by this hire. The question-- still open-- if whether he
has the chops to make the right hire.

Just speculating that Harvard's lowering of their academic standards for MBB players has meant they get the players that used to go to Boston College.

To what extent is Harvard's recruiting regional and thus relevant to BC? Looking at their 2016 class, they have recruits from the West (Los Angeles), Mid-Atlantic (New Jersey), South (two recruits from Georgia), Mid-West (Ohio), and Mountain (Colorado).

BC recruits nationally. The Boston area is a ridiculously fun area to go to school. That BC senior said the highlight of his career was going out to eat. Why ball at BC when you can now get into Harvard and have a good shot at going to the Dance? Plus the food is better in Cambridge than Newton.

I don't know... I lived in Brookline for four years, just down Beacon street from BC (I used to run up Beacon Street and around the lake in Chestnut Hill park). Lots of good restaurants up and down Beacon.
Anyways, wrt Harvard's changing standards, I assume BC is not the only victim. It's hard to say which schools those recruits would have gone to. Obviously BC is possible, but I'm sure lots of other schools may have suffered.

Wait, Harvard now has lower entrance requirements for hoopsters than Stanford?

The lack of news on other candidates interviewing and the fact that we haven't filled the job yet while OK State, TCU, Central Florida and others have filled their open positions is encouraging to me. The real candidates may still be coaching and thus not able to speak with Stanford yet. UC Irvine has a game tonight in the CIT and my longshot dream coaching candidate (Mark Few) is playing against Syracuse in the Sweet 16.
