Some video of what is hitting the course about now.  Golfweek writer says "I think we are done for the day."

For those of you more knowledgeable about golf than I am, any sense as to whether this delay helps us, hurts us, or is neutral?  Seems like Chou is overperforming at the moment, and thus, a reset might hurt her, but the opposite seems true of Lee, who might benefit from the chance to regroup for the last few holes and try and bring her match all square, at least.

Looking at that post, the only quote that comes to mind is:

I don't think the heavy stuff's going to come down for quite a while.

Players are back on the driving range to warm up.  Golf Channel reports that restart is scheduled for 4:50 pm pacific.

Imposible to know. Chou actually missed a very short putt right before the horn sounded to give back a hole. My default assumption (possibly biased) is that Stanford athletes are mature and mentally tough, and thus better equipped to deal with disruptions.

They are about to resume play.

Update: right off the bat Valenzuela's opponent hit a horrible hook off the tee and Valenzuela made birdie to cut her deficit to one hole, and Danielson made her putt while her opponent missed to increase her lead to three holes, followed by Chou making birdie and getting her lead back to two holes. So at least so far Stanford has come out poised and sharp after the long break.

Is there another weather delay?  That's what the website states, though it looks like scores are being updated.

Things are looking pretty good, with both Danielson and Aubert 4-up with 5 to play.  Chou is up 1.  Lee and Valenzuela down 2 and 1 respectively.

The web site is incorrect, for some reason the weather delay notice wasn't taken down; they are playing and conditions are good, they will continue until it's too dark.

Re: Last woman standing: NCAA golf begins - BobK - 05-23-2017

Danielson up 4  with 4?to go
Aubert up 4 with 5 to go
Lee down 2 with 2 to go

Re: Last woman standing: NCAA golf begins - DC 86 - 05-23-2017

Valenzuela with a long birdie to even her match.

Re: Last woman standing: NCAA golf begins - terry - 05-23-2017

It would be great if Chou can close it out for us.

It would be even greater if Valenzuela can close it out so that Chou doesn't have to.

Re: Last woman standing: NCAA golf begins - BobK - 05-23-2017

Lee loses

Re: Last woman standing: NCAA golf begins - DC 86 - 05-23-2017

Lee loses her match while Aubert and Danielson are about to win theirs.

It will come down to Valenzuela and Chou.

Valenzuela is all square but has looked very sharp since the break. Chou is up one but has had some shaky shots and had to make some saves.

Update: Valenzuela with a nice tee shot on 16 while her opponent (Monica Vaughn, the medalist in this event) hit another horrible drive into the hazard, so a good chance to go one up with two to go.

Re: Last woman standing: NCAA golf begins - DC 86 - 05-23-2017

Vaughn concedes the 16th hole so Valenzuela up one with two holes to go, darkness approaching but Stanford has a good chance to close out three matches and get the win before play is called.

Re: Last woman standing: NCAA golf begins - BobK - 05-23-2017

Aubert wins

Re: Last woman standing: NCAA golf begins - DC 86 - 05-23-2017

Aubert wins her match. 1-1 with Danielson dormie and Valenzuela playing like a champion with a ton of momentum.

Re: Last woman standing: NCAA golf begins - DC 86 - 05-23-2017

Danielson wins her match. 2-1 with Valenzuela and Chou both up one in their matches.

Re: Last woman standing: NCAA golf begins - BobK - 05-23-2017

Valenzuela on 17.  She can do it here

Re: Last woman standing: NCAA golf begins - DC 86 - 05-23-2017

Valenzuela with a chance to close it out with a long putt but left it way short and had to make a clutch par putt, going to 18 still up one with a chance to clinch.
