Good to know we are both well prepared in case the kidnappers knock on our door and ask to come in and watch the game with us.

CTCard will note that we are passing more than we are running.  16 carries total (including 5 by our QBs), mostly on read options.  19 passes.

Worth noting that we have scored on 3/4 of Chryst's drives (13 points), and 0/2 on Costello's drives.  I think Shaw will stay with Chryst in the second half.

Yes, but some really head scratching play calls when Stanford got in the redzone with Costello at the helm. Then a missed chip shot.  But, Chryst hasn't looked bad at all.

In this game that's reasonable. Need to get them backing off the LOS. I'd expect to see more runs in the second half now that they have reason to fear the pass.

Costello had two bad drops but then, by my eye, Chryst could've had better receiver play on a couple of his drops.

In goal-to-go situations, I fault Chryst for missing Irwin in the end zone. I'm not sure whose fault the two mixed-up plays were on Costello's goal-to-go situation.

Not sure Costello had any misses where I faulted him. Chryst had a couple.

Was impressed that Chryst stared down the barrel of a blitz to deliver a nice pass to Schultz on the two minute drill. I don't yet have a sense of what Costello's weaknesses are yet so no idea if he addressed them today.

To be honest, while I was critical of Shaw's decision the rotating QBs don't look like the problem with the offense (such as it is). To me the receivers are the missing element at the moment. Have to wonder how the offense would be doing Arcega-Whiteside.

I think that's a fair assessment.  Chryst had some nice plays tonight.  He had a couple of not-so-good plays, but generally he's doing ok.  Costello really hasn't had enough plays to make a good assessment.  The receivers have been underwhelming, though Schultz has looked ok.

Chryst has also been helped by Love's better running in the last two possessions.

Second half about to kick off.

Okereke is having a great game.

Beautiful blitz on third and long, and beautiful tackle by Okereke.  Three and out for the Utes!

Great commentary. Blaming the punter for that. . ..

Re: Stanford v. Utah live thread - stupac2 - 10-07-2017

Well, that's about as good a start for the half as you could ask for. We'd better get a TD with this field position.

Re: Stanford v. Utah live thread - dabigv13 - 10-07-2017

Terrible throw from Chryst.

Re: Stanford v. Utah live thread - BostonCard - 10-07-2017

Weddington whiffed on the block there.

He can't read the defense and make a throw. Why Shaw why.....
