Also, after yesterday, no one is allowed to complain about the music volume at our stadium. At least we wait until the PA guy is done announcing the previous play before blasting house jams.

When it's the only thing you have to hang on your rivals, you use it, even if it's 36 years old, I guess.

Kal is cursed to never win the conference again until they finally lay their endless replays of that travesty to rest. And maybe after that too. :-)

Yes! Some things to ponder.

The last time Cal was in the Rose Bowl, the world had not yet heard of the Beatles.

The last time Cal won a Rose Bowl, Austria had just been annexed by Hitler Germany.

Not much there to hang your hat on. Big Game balance is 39-18-1 in favor of Stanford since 1961. Gotta get those bobbleheads out to commemorate a play that never should have been allowed to stand in the first place.

UCB celebrated their 1959 Rose Bowl team. (60th anniversary) They had (most of or all of) the remaining living members of the squad at the stadium. Stanford definitely had a lot more members of their last Rose Bowl team in the stadium, and they WON that game.

The bobble head is cute. I will find some child of a Cal alum to give it to in the next few days. I even took my bobble head on BART. Someone asked me about how and why I could haul it around and I pointed out I was in grade school on the East Coast at the time of the game so doesn't bother me at all. Oh, to see his reaction. He must have realized that it must have been a long time ago for me to be able to claim I was in grade school. And worse, that people younger than me affiliated with Stanford almost certainly don't care that a lucky (and bad) UCB team won a single Big Game a long, long time ago in a galaxy before the release of Return of the Jedi.
