At least part of that is a quality-of-competition effect: Arizona and ASU both probably have better offenses than BYU, and certainly have better offenses than the first two teams UCLA played.

The Arizona offense looked pretty pedestrian against us.  Yeah they didn't have Solomon, but their running game did little against us and looked pretty scary against UCLA.

Exactly. Arizona scored 30 points against UCLA, and Solomon skipped out early.

I have a good feeling about Thursday.  If the Bruins tackle Wright, McCaffrey, Sanders, or Love, just tell them to turn around and run backwards.

UCLA is going to come in rested, angry, and hungry for revenge for not just last year but a few years in a row.  They are going to give our boys their best shot.  I don't think it will be enough, but our young secondary is going to be tested.  Fortunately, we have seen that they can be up to the test (U$C).

And of importance, our D should be rested and healed.

Hogan will be going for a rare feat - his 5th career victory over UCLA.

Re: Myles Jack effect? - PrinceLightfoot - 10-04-2015

UCLA has not beaten us since 2009 2008. Expect that trend to continue.

I hate hope you're right, but that's a long time . . . . .

Since 2008, where we lost in the last minute or so.  We beat them in 2009.  I, however, will not make any predictions, but merely say that if we play our game correctly it greatly increases our chances of emerging victorious.

Re: Myles Jack effect? - fullmetal - 10-05-2015

Oh, both teams get a bye coming into Thursday's game.  Holy cow.  I am going to be a little worried.

Re: Myles Jack effect? - BostonCard - 10-05-2015

Yes, both teams get a bye for Thursday games after Saturday games;  the Bruins play back-to-back Thursday games (they play the weenies the following Thursday).
