One sighting late in game answered a question - Redrum - 10-04-2015
Some people have suggested that one work-around for our thin-to-dire risk situation with the DLine be fixed by moving Fanaika from OG to the NT. I was one of them. But late in the 4th quarter there was a shot of the huddle and there was our boy Brandon Fanaika. So the redshirt/saving-the-eligibility argument goes out the window, if it hadn't already. Perhaps its for the best, not moving him. He's going to have some BIG shoes to fill at LG next year.
So far, burning the (possible) Trent Irwin redshirt seems to be the most logical move. The guy is contributing at WR, at a position that seemed a bit weak preseason.

He redshirted last year so no need to save eligibility. He'll be very good next year. The question is whether the team can make it through the season without adding a DL. If they can, it's great to have Fanaika get experience at OG.

Hasn't Brandon been playing as Ogre/short yardage FB all season?
More curious is that the box score (at least yahoo sports') says Sean Barton had a carry.

1. Yes, Fanaika's role is really nothing new.
2. Barton did not have a carry.

While we didn't necessarily
need Love in the running back mix, he's proven to be a contributor (not just against UCF). Even just having him in the backfield gives teams something else to think about.
Our freshmen DB's Reid and Meeks have also been good, and at a poistion where we needed them to contribute.
Overall, I can't really complain about the freshman eligibility that has been used.

Branch looks like the borderline case to me.

Yes, he's been doing that wearing #94.
BTW, #96 is Nick Davidson.

I love the motion Wildcat with McCaffrey taking the snap and Love in motion. Gotta scare the crap out of DCs
