For the Pac-12 (plus Notre Dame):
24. Washington Chris Petersen $3,402,940
25. UCLA Jim Mora $3,350,00
28. Arizona Rich Rodriguez $3,238,844
30. Oregon Mark Helfrich $3,150,000
33. Arizona State Todd Graham $3,002,960
38. Washinton State Mike Leach $2,750,000
40. Utah Kyle Whittingham $2,600,000
45. OSU Gary Andersen $2,450,000
47. Stanford David Shaw $2,224,435
54. Colorado Mike MacIntyre $2,010,353
55. Cal Sonny Dykes $2,008,000
68. Notre Dame Brian Kelly $1,187,272
USC did not disclose Steve Sarkisian's salary.
A few thoughts; Shaw and Whittingham are probably the best deal among Pac-12 head coaches. Mike Leach seems way overpaid compared to what he's delivered. Chris Petersen is going to have a lot of work to do in the next few years to justify his salary. I have trouble believing that Brian Kelly's salary really is $1.1 M; it seems like there is probably some accounting shenaneganism going on, but if true, then he's a steal.

Kelly's salary matches what's in the ND 2013 form 990. Note Charlie Weis is also on that form and got paid almost $2.1m.....

Looks like they got Shaw's compensation from the FY14 990:
http://bondholder-information.stanford.edu/pdf/Stanford_990_FY14.pdf.
Johnny Dawkins is also on the list, and paid only a half-million less than Shaw.

This is criminal. What are their respective win percentages?
Re: Coaching salaries -

David Shaw is 46-13; he has won 78% of his games.
Johnny Dawkins is 141-100; he has won 59% of his games.

Dawkins has won more than three times as many games as Shaw, pay the man :)

It's also curious: who, precisely, wants to pay $1.7M for Johnny Dawkins's services? That makes Dawkins (probably?) an above-average-paid CBB coach. (Supposition based on this USA Today database of NCAA Tournament coaches, which may or may not be representative:
http://sports.usatoday.com/ncaa/salaries/mens-basketball/coach/).
Whereas if Shaw were to switch jobs -- and I assume he could if he desired to -- he would double his pay at least.

Is Tara Vanderveer's salary disclosed? Because she deserves to be paid more than Dawkins.

It's not in the Form 990, so probably not.

If I recall correctly, Tara had some unusual timing issues on her compensation.

Victor Kiam told me once, "Never take a job just for the money; take it for the opportunity."Â Do you really think Shaw would rather be at UW, AZ or UC*LA?
