Kal or U$C? -

Who to root for this weekend?
I'll vote for Kal, since I'd rather see Stanford vs. ASU/Utah/UCLA in the championship than $C.
Of course, we'll also have to take care of business this weekend.

You have better odds of "Memorial Stadium being ripped apart by the next movement of the Hayward Fault" as described in one of the early versions of the Roadside Guide to Northern California Geology.Â
Cheers,
Pete F.
Ps:Â Of course, I am not truly hoping for a major earthquake on the Hayward Fault.Â

Cal. I do not want to play USC again, especially the new sarkless version.

I agree with above, I'd definitely prefer to avoid USC in the Pac12Champ game. Anyone could win that game with their talent (and now motivation for revenge).
I'm much more confident of our chances vs UCLA. Utah will be tough also tho.

USC is the most talented team in the Pac 12 South. I am pulling for Cal.

Which team would give you more satisfaction from beating in the Pac-12 CG? It isn't even close for me. Beating USC twice in one season would be pretty spectacular. But I do think it will be Utah, which would carry its own satisfaction.

I have a great deal of distaste for the University of Seventh Choice, but I will

Do we have a tame (by football standards) rivalry with Kalifas or is SoCal just the most vile of opponents.
I think both.

I live close enough to Berkeley that this would cause me some pretty big issues.
Anyway, I think this is one of those games where we're just happy that it's being played. If Cal loses, we're a game farther out in front of them in the north. If USC loses, we're almost certain to avoid them in the Championship, and they're still the most dangerous team in the south. Since ties can't happen, both outcomes help us, but it's not really clear which helps more.

I think I prefer UCB only in that I want $C to continue to falter on the recruiting trail and to continue their downward fall as a program.  At least UCB has strong academics (with the exception of their football and hoops teams). $C has only their arrogance. Â
I think UCB will continue to bump along the middle of the road in the Pac12, especially if Goff leaves (UCB football and Stanford hoops are Ben Braun-like). We will almost always beat them for recruits and the gnashing of teeth Ol' Blues won't see a Rose Bowl for at least another 10-20 years (if not more). Poor 59ers! Unlike the Cubs, they are not loveable, but you do feel a little sorry for them...at times.

Well, I'd get the most satisfaction if it were somehow possible to win a playoff bracket composed of Knute Rockne's Four Horsemen, Paul Bryant's Alabama and the '85 B.ears.
I'm holding my nose and rooting for C.al.

Again, I am one of those several alums who feel indifferent about the cubbies to our north. My dislikes among our rivals, in order: Notre Dame, USC, Oregon, gap, gap, Washington (bad fans), gap, Cal.
Let's get USC out of the picture. All that talent makes them dangerous. We want to play UCLA for the title, now that they're almost out of players.

I used to live closer, moved a bit down 580. But a meteor capable of doing any real damage to Berkeley would definitely blow out my windows, at the very least. Although I hate my windows so maybe that would be a plus.

A tough call,
I think I will go in with the idea that UCB winning would help the narrative for Stanford. A UCB win shows that the Pac-12 North continues to be the best division in the Pac-12, despite the preseason hype for the Pac-12 South. A UCB win provides more evidence that USC continues to be the most over-hyped team in college football. A win by UCB raises the profile of Big Game 2015, etc.
Now, when UCB starts fumbling and bumbling their way to a 28-3 type deficit at halftime I will just chuckle as I remind myself just how difficult it must be to be a fan of the 59ers. And then I will nervously try to assess if I still believe Utah can stay ahead of USC in the Pac-12 South.

Tough choice, but I agree with those who don't want to see us face off against the Toejams again. If Kal wins, that makes our meeting with them just that much more "interesting". Hope they only squeak by, tho'.

Cal strikes first, with a touchdown on fourth and goal from the six, to that Palo Alto resident Bryce Treggs. Good call going for it on 4th down; fortune favors the bold.

As annoying as it is for us to hear "All Right Now" played by those goose stepping boobs from 'SC, how much does it annoy the C'al faithful to hear it when they turn the ball over against 'SC?
