This tandem is going to be absolutely lethal next season as a 1-2 punch, and gonna have to find a way to get them both on the field together as much as possible. I do wonder why we don't see more of it this year. Seems like the only plays when both are on together is in wildcat.
Can you say misdirection plays up the ying-yang? Fake pitch to McCaffrey and then throw a flare or screen to Love on the opposite side and let him work 1v1. Or vice-versa

McCaffrey's 50 yard reception against UW was a play-action with Love as the decoy runner.

I was thinking about how similar I'm excited this season about how Love is playing as a freshman... to how excited I was last year with how McC played as a freshman.
This is going to be a dangerous combo next year!Â

Good point, now that I think about it I'd say that is a good possibility. Perhaps OkSt.
He has put up great YPC consistently. Would suck to lose him even if he is overshadowed by Christian.

I hope he sticks around, but as few carries as he gets, I couldn't blame him if he wanted to go some place where he will see more action. I have a feeling that whatever touches CMac doesn't get next year will go to Love.

I wouldn't be surprised if Barry J did transfer - presuming he's graduating this spring. And I wouldn't blame him one bit. He's plenty good enough to start for many schools, but Stanford will have such a litany of riches next year.
Scarlett is supposed to be pretty good, he should be #3 next year. Year after would depend on whether McCaffrey stays.

I don't want to see BJS go! If i recall correctly, his dad didn't reach the right combination of speed, shiftiness, and power until his last year in college. We could see an amazing combo of runners next year - wildcat or options with CM, BL, and BJS?

If he was smart, he'd do his fifth year at an Ivy. He's a very good runner, but I don't think he's NFL bound. He can set records for Hahvahd or Yale or something. It's time for him to think next 40 years...

...Then consider the football programs. Lots of carries at Iowa State or , say, West Virginia aren't going to get him to the NFL or to a business career with wide, powerful alumni network. Transferring to OK State might make some sentimental and business contact sense in his home town, but they'd probably be pissed he didn't go there in the first place. Staying at Stanford in an appropriate grad program makes sense, but I can't think of an instance, aside from terrible terrible luck, that would give him the carries he needs to develop his running game and would showcase him.

Washington, Vandy, Michigan and c.al are all strong schools, all with rushing in the bottom half of the NCAAs...maybe Duke, at #58. Harvard's stud running back is a senior this year. There could be worse things....
