WSoc: Congratulations to Cook, Campbell - Viking_Guy - 11-10-2015

Alana Cook named Pac-12 newcomer of the year.  I know that by the end of the season, she was the defender in whom I had the most confidence.

Jane Campbell named Pac-12 keeper of the year.  Her two brilliant reaction saves against C.al kept us from an ignominious end to the season.

Paul Ratcliffe again coach of the year, and really deserving, taking this team of parts and not losing a Pac-12 match.

Player of the year: Arielle Ship from C.al.  Conference leading scorer, although I think a lot of coaches would probably take Andi Sullivan over her as a "first pick."

Defender of the year: Kayla Mills, $C. Really good marking back.

Also on first team: Haley Rosen, Sullivan.

Second Team: Maddie Bauer, Kyra Carusa, and Cook.

Honorable mention: Megan Turner (which to be honest I'm not sure I understand - she was playing ~15 minutes a game by the end of the season), and Michelle Xiao.

Carusa, Cook, Jordan DiBiasi, Tegan McGrady, and Xiao all on the all-freshman.

it's impressive to see the high regard the other Pac-12 coaches have for our players. They watch them on film and see them in action in person, so their ratings are meaningful.
(maybe Megan Turner made it because she would be their best midfielder if she were on their team)
