This week (month) in opponent attrition: Iowa - ColoradoTree - 12-07-2015

Apparently Iowa RB Jordan Canzeri left the Big Ten Championship game in a boot with an ankle sprain, and his availability for the Rose Bowl is uncertain.  http://qctimes.com/sports/football/college/big-10/iowa/rose-bowl-provides-opportunity-for-both-hawkeyes-and-fans/article_f366da68-9cf2-11e5-aa66-8755516b4550.html.  If he can't go, that's a big deal, as Canzeri is Iowa's leading rusher (178 carries on the year for 976 yards, for a 5.5 average, and 12 TDs).  Iowa also has two other backs that got significant carries (LeShun Daniels Jr. with 135 for 609 yards; Akrum Wadley with 74 for 463 yards).

QB C.J. Beathard also looks to still be injured, with some nagging hip and groin injuries that have been bothering him for the last month or so, but the time before the Rose Bowl may make him a more mobile and dangerous player than we would see on recent film.

Wadley is certainly nothing to sneeze at.

I think Iowa is a good enough and deep enough team that they would have to have 3+ of these for it to have a major impact on how challenging and close I expect this game to be.

To fell their leading rusher on the eve of the Rose Bowl?  AIRBHG is a harsher and more vengeful god than I realized.  Truly a fearsome deity.Â
