nitpicking time - washingtonismoney - 01-02-2016

Plaschke calls McCaffrey a man of "normal build," which is good news to the nation's women (and some men), I'm sure.

Since we are nitpicking, Plaschke wrote "ordinary build", which nonetheless is an odd definition of ordinary.  I mean, I want an ordinary build like McCaffrey's.

In the BI game thread, someone attributed his "ordinary build" to steroids. I thought that was amusing.

In every BI thread, somebody attributes Stanford players' build to steroids.
It's just what they do.

Sounds like the makings of a new GEICO commercial...

Meaning no disrespect whatsoever, our players dont look like they take steroids.  I recall seeing a Stanford recruit from some years back who ended up at USC (never really did anything) who was basically misshapen, I've seen OLs with faces that seem to small for their heads, I've worked with and played against guys who've used steroids...based upon what I've seen of the Stanford team...I just don't see it.  They seem strong, physical, built, but within normal parameters.

Re: nitpicking time - CornFed - 01-09-2016

Our players don't need no stinkin' steroids.

They have The Cooling Glove.  :P

Re: nitpicking time - Oasis - 01-09-2016

I'm a little late this year with my usual January post about how Plaschke should not be allowed to live.  But he did say Christian is the best football player in the country, ordinary build notwithstanding, which I suppose gets him a stay until next January.

I would really like it if the powers that be could create a CardBoard auto-correct for this columnist's name. I'd really prefer not to have to read the name here or anywhere else. Here are a few suggestions:

The Writer Without a Clue.
Everyone's Least Favorite Scribe.
The Man Who Wishes He Were Jim Murray.
The Only Man in Los Angeles Who's More Embarrassing than Charlie Sheen.
Asshat.

Any of these will do.

Crude, but effective?
