This may be the first time in a long time that the previous game didn't run late and I'm watching the pre-game. Darkened gym and flashing lights for the player intros? Fist-bumping officials? When did all this start??

Sanders and Rosco and Humphrey all looking sharp early on. Go Card! Beat Cal!

We are playing well except for too many threes by cal and a couple of missed lay ups.

Humphrey in early foul trouble (2 fouls at 10 minute mark) was something we didn't need. We also don't need shot clock violations. But we aren't playing poorly. Come on, let's go!

Key stat in the first half: we are 12/12 from the free throw line; Cal is 3/7.

We are shooting 50% from the floor and the three point line, but the Bears have 9 more shots, and 10 more three point attempts.

Really love how this team is coming together! Kudos to Dawkins and the coaching staff for changing up the look on defense against an inexperienced Bears team.

Humphrey didn't have the type of game he is capable of. Yet the team, in a total team effort, did what it needed to do. Congrats! Added bonus: was able to verify son was alive and well, via the magic of TV.  8)

Great win.  Have been travelling for most of this season so this was the first game I was able to sit and watch.  I was impressed with the cohesion of the team and the grit they showed when Cal made its runs.  Cal has some great talent and hit a lot of threes that kept them in the game, but our guys always had an answer and did a great job of working close to the rim or shooting threes depending on the situation.  I don't have great confidence but, God help me, I do have high hopes for this team.

Haven't seen any games this season, but the conference wins have gotten me interested.  Is Dawkins finally stepping up, or is this team transcending the limitations of their coach?

Statistically, we are winning games in large part by having many more free throws than opponents, and hitting a higher percentage of them. We are also shooting a slightly higher percentage from the field (although taking less shots), and doing a bit better on rebounds, steals, turnovers and blocks. In short, we seem to be playing disciplined ball. That said the stats are for the whole season, so it might be interesting to see stats from just the Pac12 games.
