I've never liked how in-your-face/personal the booing/taunting of players is across college basketball. Telling someone they're ugly (especially if they are) just feels gratuitous!

Agreed. The most cringeworthy moment of my Stanford fandom experience is when the 6th man club started chanting "your dad hates you" to Mike Bibby. Seriously, that is a low blow to chant at a kid which by all accounts had his dad leave the family when he was just a kid and didn't show any interest until it was time to recruit him to play for the ol' man at 'SC. (On the other hand, I admit that I smiled a little when they chanted "your son hates you" to Henry).
