Andrew Luck extension talk - BostonCard - 02-02-2016

In progress....

The comments in that twitter thread are similar to what we've seen here (Colts need an OL; Luck should leave; etc.)

Re: Andrew Luck extension talk - FarmBoy - 02-02-2016

I've seen a couple of estimates of the extension. One that forecasted it at $22M per year and one at $18M due to this past season. I don't by the latter at all, but I do wonder if Luck "played himself out" of the richest contract ever discussions. Not that it was his fault, but he has a lot less ammunition going into this negotiation than he would have had last year.

If I'm Luck I don't sign an extension until the Colts sign at least two top notch free agent OLs, and if they don't do that then I tell Irsay & Grigson that 2016 is my last year in Indy.

well they can keep him three additional seasons with the franchise tag (yes the second and third year would be very expensive for the Colts) so he'd likely be stuck there through 2019 unless he's willing to "retire"

I wish for his health and career that there was some way for him to get out of Indy.  He is too nice a guy.  They didn't care enough about him to be serious about building an OL.
