I have a greater appreciation of Mr. Lynch after reading this quote in that link. This is what stood out. A terrific individual:
Chong: I was a new water boy, and I saw him walking across campus. I didn't stop to talk to him. We kind of nodded to each other in acknowledgement. That same afternoon, I went to work with the team and Marshawn was in the training room. He sees me and he comes over and immediately starts giving me all this [teasing]. He's just playing with me, saying, "How come you didn't say 'Hi' to me? I know you saw me." And I said, "I'm sorry, I didn't know if you knew who I was." And he said, "Next time, say hi to me." That's what I remember. He wasn't going to ignore you because you were a lowly water boy. He went out of his way to recognize people. He didn't think of himself as superior.

Marshawn's one of my favorites. Obviously some mistakes and twists/turns, but I love the way he plays.

"Marshawn Lynch reportedly hasn't spent a penny of the $49.7 million in salary he has made in his NFL career"

Seattle Seahawks star running back Marshawn Lynch has made $49.7 million in nine NFL seasons and has saved all of it.
[. . .]
"Marshawn Lynch has a lot of money," Rapoport said. "He hasn't spent a dime of his actual playing money ... ever."
Presumably, Lynch has been living the last nine years off of endorsements and other business ventures. Lynch is estimated to earn about $5 million per year through endorsement deals with Nike, Pepsi, Skittles, Progressive, and Activision, according to Forbes.

Wow. Considering pro athlete culture, that is impressive self-discipline, a self-discipline which includes the deliberation to walk away from the game when he still has capacity to play - and earn - at a high level.
I live in Seattle, and Beast Mode is idolized up here. He really sounds like an impressive young man in many ways.

Gronk is apparently doing the same thing. I'm glad some athletes take their money seriously.
