Jimmy V's: the Stanford Athletics Restaurant - Bruce Wang - 05-06-2013

Any of you been here?  Will try to go the next time I'm on the Farm.  Any suggestions as to what the order?

Probably 50 or more times plus Jimmy V does many of the team
Banquets.  Used to have council of chiefs here until it grew larger and still have the MBB gatherings here.  Closes to the public at three.  Great sandwiches.  World class cookies.  Excellent food.

Nice article. I've walked by many times on the way to Maples, but wasn't sure if it was open to the public -- duh. Jimmy V catered the women's basketball season ending banquet, and the food was good.

The word "restaurant" is a little too strong, more like a cafe, I'd say. It's very popular, and has long lines to prove it. The burritos are good. The sandwiches are good. The salad bar is not. I think it's also known for the smoothies, but I've never tried them.

You'll almost always find athletes and coaches there.

Glad to see Stanford's housing and dining operations haven't tried to take that corner of campus cuisine away.

I wonder when he started this Monday Night Football steak dinner tradition.  If it was pre-Harbaugh, I wonder if it occurred to him that it could become such an expensive tradition.

A shot across the bow for you CARDboarders.  In 20 years time, that Andrew Luck jersey is mine.  I will outbid you... Wait a minute, just realized I will be paying for college then.  Might have to sell my autographed Rose Bowl football.  Bidding starts in 16 years. :(

Town and Country had the best sandwiches! We used to make a run over there for game-day sustenance as well, since Row houses didn't serve meals on Saturdays.

Over/under on snickerdoodles when I go to a Jimmy V-catered event:  15  [And the chocolate chip cookies are perfectly fine when the snickerdoodles are gone...]

Hey, I always balance it off with fresh fruit...
