I thought that the championship match deserved its own thread.
You can follow the action online here -

Live on course TV coverage on the Golf Channel begins at 3 pm. Pre-game show runs from 1 to 3 pm.Â
Here is a summary story about both teams with some nice quotes from the coaches -

Any golf experts on here have thoughts on how the pairings favor (or don't favor) us?Â

I'll add my $0.02.Â
The first two matches are critical. Aubert vs. Thomas. Thomas is the #11 player in the country and a senior leader for UW. But Aubert has confidence. She apparently asked Coach Walker to be in the #1 position. Edge to UW but strong momentum to Stanford if they pick up this point.
Danielson vs. Luo. This is the match to watch. Danielson is 5-0 in match play over the past two years. Luo is a senior and the #2 player for UW. Both players are good ball strikers. Danielson is very steady. She only made 10 birdies during stroke play (and a hole in one). But she avoided big numbers and made a lot of pars. This approach has served her well in match play too. I don't know if Stanford can win without a point from Danielson.
So much will depend on putting. The Stanford players seemed to struggle to get the speed right in the afternoon matches yesterday. Lots of knee-knocking 3 and 4 and 5 footers needed when they left putts too short or ran them past. I hope that the team spends a lot of time today adjusting to the speed so that they can have confidence in their strokes when it counts.Â
As you watch the matches today, you will probably be able to feel the pressure yourself especially on the back 9. Reflect back to last year when Mariah Stackhouse finished birdie-birdie to tie her match. I am still in awe of what she did. Of the solid finish by Danielson to secure her point. Aubert coming up big and getting a key point. Just be impressed by the ability and mental strength of these athletes on both sides to perform at the highest levels under such intense pressure.

Pre-game broadcast has begun. Conditions are overcast but calm wind and no rain. Ideal playing conditions.

We are at 2-1-2 right now.
Aubert 2 up after 5 (Aubert was holding her wrist after hitting her third shot out of the rough).
Kersten 1 up through 2
Stackhouse AS through 3
Danielson AS through 3
Kim down 1 through 1 (though Alverez is putting for par to go 2 up)

Since I typed the last entry it is now 1-0-4 good guys.
Kersten gave back a stroke but Stackhouse and Kim came back on their holes.
This is far more fun than watching the masters or any other golf tournament for me.

Kersten missed a 3 footer to halve #2. And just missed a 5 footer to make double bogey on the 4th hole to lose to a bogey. A little shaky for Kersten at the start. Coach Walker is with her.
Stackhouse missed a 12 footer for birdie at #5 and halved the hole when Rhee ran in a 10 footer for par. Stackhouse looks solid, but Rhee is putting like a maniac.
