10 Things You Probably Didn't Know About David Shaw (Rule of Tree) - JJJ - 05-26-2016

I hadn't seen this until today, when I went to read about Stanford's championships compared to UCLA's on Rule of Tree. (Of course, many people here already know many of these. And if already posted elsewhere, apologies for the dupe posting.)

It would've been cool to be there (and drink complimentary beers for $10 admission).

Wow, that was way more interesting than I would have expected. Learned about McCaffrey's basketball prowess, the Stanford S logo, and other stuff. Great job Hank91!

As someone posted somewhere on the 'board before, the "official" version of the story suggests that the block "S" with the green tree is the preferred logo but when two colors are not possible, then the tree need not be green. Maybe there is an "official" stance and then the "let's be real" stance. I don't know.

Quote:Block "S" with Tree, Two-colors

For the Stanford Block "S" with Tree, the preferred presentation is in two colors: Cardinal and green. The line around the tree and the line within the outside edge of the letter "S" are always shown in white.
