Looks like a graduate transfer. Best of luck! (She's from Plano, TX, so this is a hometown move for her.)

That is good news. Kiran showed herself to be quite talented, a good three point shooter and also with some ball handling skills, plus good height for a guard. She was listed as a senior so I am pretty sure she is graduating. She only played in two seasons, though, so she could settle in to a two year MA program and have a productive career with SMU. Good for Kiran.

I think she has only one year of eligibility, as she played her freshman and senior years. You have to use your eligibility over a period of 5 consecutive years unless you get an unusual medical hardship wavier.
Best wishes to Kirin at SMU!

And the clock starts day 1 whether you play or not. She was a walk on last year at Stanford and now hopefully a scholie player at SMU.

Oh...so if she had played her sophomore and senior years instead of her freshman and senior years, then she would have two years of eligibility left. But the five year rule limits her to one year. Bummer.

It doesn't matter what years you don't play. You always have five years to play four, starting the year of enrollment, regardless of whether your redshirt year is your freshman year or your senior year. Not participating in two years doesn't change things (or even three years). The only exception is injury, where if you miss two years due to injury, you can appeal for a sixth year.

Right, the clock starts day 1 of your first year of undergraduate studies. Doesn't matter whether you walk on to the sport late or not.
Archery has different rules, I think. I might have a few years of eligibility left there ;D

No, BobK is correct. My post was misleading because I left that proviso out.

There are exceptions of course. Mission being one. But she is graduating in 4 years or maybe even already graduated.Â
