Dare I say that it is starting to look like Solomon Thomas is a bit over-hyped?  I (and apparently the coaches) have every confidence that he will rise up to the challenge, but I am surprised he got rated as one of the top 100 players in the country.

Was a little surprised to see Royce Freeman of Oregon not on the list, but I checked the article and he was actually #14.

Also a little surprised to see Jake Browning of Washington ranked in the top 100. I thought he had a decent freshman year, but I didn't realize it was that good. (I admit I didn't see him play that much).

As we've noted several times here, Browning's season was comparable, and by some metrics better, than Rosen. Of course, this is to some extent projection of the upcoming year, but arguably if Rosen is on the list, then Browning probably ought to be on it.

I increasingly think I'm alone in not being very impressed by Browning.  I know Rosen is the popular comp, but to me Rosen is an absolute star in the making.  I just don't see it with Browning.

Banner is way overrated.

Actually, I was a little surprised to see Rosen there too, but not as much because I think he gets more hype. If those guys deserve to be there, not sure Luke Falk doesn't also.
If it is a projection of 2016 performance I could see it a little more, as I think Browning will be on a very good team with a year's experience under his belt.

Not at all. I think there's a very good chance that Thomas will be gone after '16. Most talented DL I've ever seen at Stanford.

Varis was a stud, Thomas is a stud.  The Stanford linemen who had the longest NFL careers?  Paul Wiggin and Lester Archambeau had 11 year careers, but 7th round pick Jason Fisk had a 12 year career, playing in 182 games.  He never recovered a fumble, but had 19 sacks, three interceptions and forced four fumbles.
