Whoever is handling Stanford football's twitter feed is doing a nice job.  They've been posting short videos each day related to the number of the day.  Today's number: 47.  As in 47-yard td run by Bryce Love.

It seems the Facebook page is a tad slower. But 48 was Owen Marecic's 2 TDs in 13 seconds. Fun stuff!

That Stanford beat SC by 9 more points -- when removing home field advantage indicates we should've beaten them by 6 -- is another data point suggesting that the team actually regressed under Helton's control.

Well, I happen to think that we also improved.  And also that a single game is not much to go on to figure out if a team improved or regressed.

Yeah, I think if you put it together with close shaves against the 59ers, Colorado, and Arizona -- along with double-digit losses against N.D. and Oregon -- the case becomes a lot stronger. Of course Helton also made a ton of coaching staff changes, so we'll see if that does the trick.

For the second half of last season, every defense we played knew that they had to stop CMAC.  Despite being a marked man, Christian racked up crazy stats and went on to set the all-time APY record.  He just couldn't be stopped.  As Shaw said, he had the best season of any college football player . . . ever.

CMAC is back and he's stronger and faster and more experienced.  Just like the second half of last season, every defense will be game planning around stopping him.  Can he be stopped?  Barring injury, I don't think so. Will this effort to stop him give BLOVE opportunities to shine?  Absolutely.

Downfield blocking always improves when you have players like CMAC and BLOVE because they can take it to the house on any given play.  The other players know that and put in extra effort on every play.  If our O line can get our backs to the second level, this could be an unbelievable season to witness.
