Season Ticket Member gift box - SUBuddha - 08-17-2016

Just got home and waiting for me was a priority mail package. Asked Mrs. Buddha what it was..."Something from Stanford."

Open it up and there is a lovely cardinal red box containing a "fan guide", DVD's of the Crying Whyrish, U$C and Rose Bowl games and (drum roll) a clear Stanford Football bag for game days.

Woohoo!

Season Ticket Member gift box - stupac2 - 08-17-2016

Today I received a pleasant surprise in the mail, a nice little (Cardinal red) box from Stanford containing the following:

1) 3 DVDs, one each for the 2015 ND game, Pac-12 Championship, and Rose Bowl. I had been wanting to rewatch at least the Rose Bowl, so this is pretty nice.
2) "2016 Stanford Fan Guide", a little pamphlet that doesn't seem to have much useful info it but did helpfully confirm that the new clear bag policy only affects bags, not what you can bring in. Speaking of which...
3) Stanford-branded (and presumably approved) clear plastic bag.

A nice little bonus for us STMs. If anyone is interested in pictures I can post them, and if the DVDs have any novel info I'll try to relay it.

Cool, I got one too!

I still don't have a season ticket member membership card, though. Anyone know if those are still needed this year, for example to get in via the special STM only gates? I'll phone the box office about it if so, seeing that they don't answer my emails.

The card last season was completely unnecessary. Either the "season ticket holder" gate staff just didn't bother checking, or the tickets were obviously for season ticket holders.

I was just about to post about it, and to say how awesome it was to get the box.  This is the sort of thing that tells season ticket holders that Stanford cares about them.  In some ways, it is just a token, but I appreciate the thought that went into it.  New policy on clear bags for the stadium?  They send you a free bag.  Want to get pumped for the upcoming season? They send you three DVD's of the best games of the season.  I was really pumped to get it, and, more importantly, was really happy to see that someone at Stanford actually thought about it and cares.  I would have been a season ticket holder regardless, but at the margins, it can only help.

They were checking when I tried to use one and they wouldn't let me in. So I beg to differ.

This.  I was told that will be corrected this season, along with the failure to adequately staff gates for sold out/marquee games.  U$C will be the first test of both.  I would be happy of if one of these things was corrected.

Also the STM gates were usually converted into anyone gates close to kickoff time. If I'm arriving 20 minutes before kickoff, I don't need the special gate! Hopefully they get that fixed too.

Defeats the entire purpose!  If I'm an STM I want to be able to tailgate until closer to kickoff and then have an easier time getting to my seat.  Yeah I'm being snooty but hey that's a privilege of buying season tickets.

It may be an illusion but I think my shot right knee takes fewer steps to the upper section by entering the STH gate on the goaline on the sunny side.

I appreciate the plastic tote... mainly because I had no idea we were implementing the NFL bag policy at Stanford!!! Did I miss an announcement? I better tell my season ticket buddies...
