Thoughts:
1) I present to you the team to beat in the Pac-12: Colorado! Just as everyone predicted (and as will undoubtedly still be the case by the time we play them).
2) Washington still looks good, but it's hard to know how much credit to give them (Rutgers and Idaho are ranked in the 100's in ypp offense, though the games against Washington are half the weight so it's hard to do any kind of adjustment, they're also a bit better on defense, 60's and 90's respectively, though that's still bottom-half).
3) Oregon with the enormous jump, good thing Virginia's not so bad that they lost to an FCS team, right???
4) Despite winning, both ND and USC still look middling, and WSU still looks awful.

One note on how SC's stats were solid, but not dominant, against USU (+1.3 yards per play) as compared to the score (45-7): your typical brew of turnovers/special teams opportunism. SC benefitted from a punt block (after which they recovered the ball on the USU 6), a punt return TD (an Adoree Jackson special), and an INT (after which they got the ball on the USU 48).
Of course SC has a fine special teams coach in John Baxter, but then again...Stanford special teams have been pretty darn good itself over the years, and the main weaknesses last year (kickoffs and punt return defense) look ameliorated with the emergence of Jake Bailey and the return of Hoffpauir.

Echoing Washingtonmoney: Special teams could be exceptional this year. Ukropina is now 19-21 over the last two years. Bailey of course, a terrific return guy in Max, booming kickoffs.Â
PS: Sorry for Bailey that he plays in the same conference with the nation's best punter.

I'd prefer to be sorry that bailey doesn't get to punt all that often.

Who is that?
Hackett, the guy from Utah, moved on.
The new guy for Utah seems pretty good as well, currently averaging 54.44 yards per punt good - tops in the country. However, he has only played two games so it seems early to annoint him.
