Wow.  Landry Fields almost last Knick standing - Redrum - 02-22-2011

At least until Carmelo Anthony and the rest of the Denver Nuggets\' former roster arrive  in a trade for the rest of the Knicks\' roster.   I\'ve exhausted at least two decades of minimal giving a s%$# about the NBA with this one post,  but I find it interesting that so far Fields is considered more valuable playing for the Knicks than being trade bait for the Knicks.

At least, so far.

I now return to my former grumpy persona.  Screw the Knicks and ^%&*# the NBA...twice.

If you can endure a few more moments of giving a s$*%:

The Knicks appear to have learned -- finally! -- that in the salary-capped NBA, getting production out of guys who don\'t make a ton of money is essential. Landry, who\'s averaging 10 points per game, 7 rebounds per game, 2 assists per game, and 1 steal per game, makes $473,604.  That\'s about 3 percent of Amare Stoudemire\'s salary. Landry is an enormous bargain, so his value to the Knicks is a lot higher than his stats might indicate.

with billups, fields, \'melo, amare, and turiaf as the starting NYC 5, that\'s the first time in a while that so much star power has been assembled for the NY market.  if they have instant chemistry...they could contend.  it depends on \'melo, i think since his style of play is so individualistic (so is amare\'s, although i feel a bit less so).
