Wisdom & Perspective BOTH tell Kal - Redrum - 02-23-2011
...to bugger off. Really. Take your lame-a** excuse for a last second athletic "accomplishment" and just bugger off.
Thus speaks Bleacher Report looking back over a century of sports "The 100 Most Clutch Moments". It had all the classics. Bobby Thompson\'s "Shot Heard Round the World", Montana to Clark "The Catch" [
great fun to watch again, BTW], the "Immaculate Reception" that lifted the Steelers over the Raiders. Also had a few quirky ones. Somehow the finals of the WNBA made the list, along with the 2005 Capital One Bowl (You remember, right? Iowa vs. LSU?).
But the point poking Kal fans right in their hindparts is that even a WNBA playoff game is considered an actual
sports accomplishment. That icon of Kal--The Play--is considered some flukey candidate for a
Tosh.O web redemption. Whatever, it ain\'t in the Top 100 Most Clutch Moments. Â The
whole premise was pretzled to give Kal a free ticket. But Brandi Chastain\'s sports bra moment made it, Kal\'s only national highlight since the Pappy Waldorf years didn\'t. Sweet.

umm, it\'s Bleacher Report, basically some guy\'s blog.
So, let me get this straight, Yvonne - Redrum - 02-24-2011
If 500,000 people think Kal fans are weenies, it\'s objective truth.
If one person thinks Kal fans are weenies, its just some statistical hiccup? :)
Man, tough crowd. It was just a riff on a nice collection of videos and moments--90 percent of which I didn\'t remember or never knew existed in the first place. But apart from your zinging my one-man/one-vote democratic methodology, I did get one good thing out of it. It was a reminder that my not giving a crap about the NBA went much, much deeper and began much, much earlier than I\'d realized.
But just so I can follow the guidelines in the future, exactly when is it considered
inappropriate to give Kal fans a poke in the eye?

OK, I can probably find one person on a blog somewhere who thinks winning a national championship in a sport nobody else has varsity (or even "club varsity") status in is a big deal. Does that make it an authoritative opinion?

Well, look, the problem with Bleacher Report isn\'t that it\'s a blog. There are a number of bloggers who are infinitely smarter than people perched in various positions for newspapers, TV shows, etc. The problem with Bleacher Report is that it sucks.
