Injury updates? - OutsiderFan - 09-25-2016
Meeks? Holder? Owusu? Taboada?
I saw Holder. He looks to have a shoulder injury.
Obviously Owusu may have a concussion and he'll probably be back soon.
When did Meeks go out? I didn't even notice. Last time I remember him out there was on long overthrow by Rosen he almost got his hands on.
When did Taboada go out? I don't remember seeing him play at all.
I'm operating on the assumption Holder will be out on Friday. Everyone else I have no idea.
Buncom got some PT looked fine when he was in. Now the question is does Simmons get some run at CB, or do one of the True Frosh get forced into action as a backup? If so, who might it be? Butler? Antoine? Eboh?
I'm a little less concerned about Owusu given what JJAW demonstrated he can do. I'm wondering where things are at with Kaden Smith. Shaw said he wouldn't hesitate to play him if healthy.

Marx is a non-issue. He only missed a couple snaps after taking an injury timeout.
Meeks is a weird one. It was totally non-contact, and frankly it looked kind of similar to Phillips against KSU, where he went to explode and just sort of slowed up and took a seat. Though with Meeks, it appeared the trainers were checking out his thigh more than his knee.Â
As for Taboada, I didn't see him in the whole game, but did see him standing on the sidelines dressed and seemingly ready to go. So I don't think he got hurt in the UCLA game, unless something happened on the opening kickoff that I missed.

In the second half I saw a picture of Holder walking around the sideline with a single ice bag on his shoulder. I'm optimistic that means it isn't serious.

I take the fact that they haven't eliminated Meeks, Holder, or Marx outright as a positive. Hopefully at least one, if not both of the cornerbacks will be back.

I absolutely agree about Owusu. A brain is different from a knee, shoulder, or ankle. Having a difficult time walking later in life is different from developing seizures, dementia, and the syndrome that drove Junior Seau to suicide.
