Stanford @ Washington predictions -
BostonCard - 09-26-2016
Short week, so I wanted to put this up. I expect another close one (Thomas' game-ending touchdown totally messed my prediction up!). I'm holding off on a prediction until we get the injury report today or tomorrow, but anyone who wants to post early, feel free.

Hey BC, does this form email/message/text us with a confirmation of our prediction. Sometimes we senior citizens forget our predictions, or even whether we have made them.

It doesn't appear that is a setting; I can configure it so I get e-mails every time (no thanks!), but right now there is only a "Your response has been recorded" message at the end.
I think what I will do is post all the predicted scores on Thursday night or Friday morning, so anyone who hasn't gotten their act together can do it.

A while back for work I noticed that there were add-ons for google forms and I found one for formatted e-mails to form submitters (providing they entered theirs correctly), as well as any other designated recipient. Since then this add-on structure this has changed or evolved but fortunately my existing one still works. I'm glad to hear that at least having e-mails sent to the form owner is an option.

I think we should input it in the form to make it easier for BC, and we should post here as well. I enjoy all the clever ways of coming up with nicknames for us v the bad guys. I'm waiting for injury reports and I'm also stumped. I have so much respect for Chris Petersen that I can't find the vitriol to fuel my creative juices.

Wilner's pick:
The matchup: The game of the year in the Pac-12, based on what we know now and what the Hotline believes will happen the rest of the way, which is this:
The winner Friday night wins the North with no more than two losses, beats the South champ in the title game and is smack in the middle of the semifinal race.
Remember, Fridays winner will essentially have a two-game lead because of the head-to-head component in the tiebreaker.
*** From here, the most important element in the matchup is Washingtons state of mind.
Stanford plays a bevy of big games every year. It knows how to handle the emotions and the momentum swings and rarely beats itself.
But Washington hasnt played a game of this significance in ages. How will the Huskies respond?
So often we see short-circuiting from teams not used to the spotlight the players get too cute, or try to do too much, and the fabric breaks down.
If UW executes at a reasonable level, it should be close deep into the fourth quarter. If the Huskies malfunction repeatedly, Stanford should win handily.
Washington is favored by 3 points the home field advantage.
My call: Stanford 23, Washington 21 on a late field goal by Conrad Ukropina.

A challenge I anticipate with using a link to another form is that the "Predictions" thread won't be prominently displayed on the first page/at the top of the discussions, so many people may miss it as the week goes on. If we go this route, we should peg the weekly thread to the top and BC can just add a new link each week to a new poll.
