Thanks JJJ. That's the "Bombs Away" issue I alluded to from my game prediction. I remember watching tight end Jim Clymer thump along on the stand-up bass with the band after the game.

*Edit: As Papa John points out, this was the tOSU victory. I watched the UW game on DVR a while back and was confused. Sucks getting old.

Thanks for the hat tip, JJJ, but that link was to the Stanford-Ohio State game earlier in 1982. I have a 2-hour version of the Stanford-UW game from 1982 on my DVR, but I can't find it on the Internet.

Oops, sorry about that. I actually watched the UW game in its entirety on my DVR and got the two actions mixed up and didn't actually check the link to make sure I was doing what I thought I was. Apologies and thanks for digging these up. The second one ("flashback") is the one I had in mind!Â :P

I purchased the 1980 SU-UW DVD. Brutal loss on the final play of the game. Stanford had a goal-to-go situation late in the 4th quarter and elected to go for the tie. UW then drove for the winning FG.

Lifting weights the following summer with UW LB, Mark Stewart, we talked about that game. I recall him saying, "Man, they should have gone for the win."
