Not to be pedantic but would would preparation not fall under coaching?

Out coached would be game time decisions, play calling, strategy, etc. Out prepped would be basically ready to play, fundamentals, etc.

I think out coached in the sense that the roster wasn't optimally recruited -- could the team had a better OL and QB? I think obviously yes.*

* (Shaw didn't even take a QB in the '15 recruiting class so he pretty much willingly passed up a free raffle ticket.)

All three.

I can't wait until next week to watch Shaw pound CMac into 9 in the box on EVERY first down play.

Impossible to tell.  And it doesn't matter.  Washington played a great game and we played a stinker.

You mean...unlike tonight when we passed on first a lot and our receivers couldn't get open while our OL was matador-ing and Burns was either getting sacked or hurried? Yeah, that's probably a good idea.

25-25-50.
Post game Shawism:  "We didn't play well enough to win."  Really?

I watched this to cheer me up.

Dick Vermeil's quotes seem applicable:

Quote:Well, what happened was, that second game we got our ass kicked. ... Or, the second half, we just got our ass. Totally kicked. We couldn't do diddly poo offensively. We couldn't make a first down. We couldn't run the ball; we didn't try to run the ball. We couldn't complete a pass. We sucked. The second half, we sucked. We couldn't stop the run. Every time they got the ball, they went down and got points. We got our ass totally kicked in the second half, that's what it boiled down to. It was a (expletive) performance in the second half. (Expletive). I'm totally embarrassed and totally ashamed. (The) coaching ... Coaching did a horrible job. The players did a horrible job. We got our ass kicked in that second half. It sucked. It stunk.

I figured one team would prove to be a bit overrated...but I didn't expect an old fashioned, in-your-face beat-down.  Really, no aspect of game was good...even our previously unflappable  punter shanked his first two boots.  It's hard to explain this away by injuries, travel, short-week or bad on-field coaching.  From my perspective, UW was just plain a better team...on this day...down the line....man for man...players and coaches.  This was a brobdingnagian win for their program, their coach, their alums and the city of Seattle.

And I received no taunts (or woofs) or any negative comments from UW fans as I walked out of the stadium and through the campus wearing Stanford colors.

Seems like a real classy group of fans and alumni and I wish them well the rest of the season.  And a great venue to watch college football.
