Good programs in down years - BostonCard - 10-10-2016

Just to put it in perspective, in addition to our struggles this year:

Notre Dame is 2-4, with losses to Texas, Michigan State, Duke, and NC State, in their last game against NC State, they scored 3 points
Speaking of MSU, after a 2-0 start that included that win over Notre Dame, they have lost three in a row, to Wisconsin, Indiana (!) and BYU
Oregon is also 2-4, having given up 121 combined points to UW and WSU, after losing to Colorado the week before.  Their effense (no "D") is giving up almost 42 points per game

I'm sure there are other recently good teams going through a rough patch.

BC, in every instance for every team you are referencing the problem is the same.  Every one of those teams have lost very good linemen on both sides of the ball and the replacements have not been playing at a level that their predecessors have played at for years.  In some cases, injuries have contributed.  In at least one case, (ND), there may be issues with the O scheme and play calling in addition to suspensions andattrition on the defense at LB and DB also.

Sound familiar?
