WBB - 10th in Coaches' Preseason Poll - 2006alum - 10-27-2016

We came in 10th in the Preseason Coaches' Poll. We finished in 11th place in the final poll of last year, despite our Elite Eight run. 10th seems about right to me - we lose Lili, gain a top ten class of promising freshmen, and probably peaked/overperformed in the tournament relative to our overall talent level last season. We have some serious questions about our guard positions now that Lili's gone: Marta's shooting ability, Karlie's injury, and Anna's concussion (and possibly lingering injury concerns about Carrington?). On the other hand, hopefully everyone comes back stronger than last year, and we only lost Lili and Kailee, who wasn't much of a contributor, esp. on offense, which is where we really struggled.

Top four basically unchanged from last year: UConn, UDFG, U(no dollar sign)SC, and Baylor. UCLA just ahead of us at 9th as the top PAC-12 team. Washington at 15th, Arizona State 16th, Oregon State 17th. Should be another dogfight for the conference title.

Thanks for the info.  I'm too busy to try to keep up with the WBB national scene, so it is interesting to see the overall ranking as pretty good.  The NCAA has been sending out info about the W. Final Four in Dallas.  I've got WBB friends in Texas to whom I'm suggested they get tickets.  Then, if the season goes well, who knows....
