Really surprised to see Stanford favored by such a large number.  I guess maybe because OSU stinks on the road?

I believe our defense is impressive overall which keeps us in most games--and in all games against weaker competition.  Moreover our overall program remains highly credible so many expect us to improve our offense.

Despite the offensive woes, Stanford is not a terrible football team.

The team is 5-3 against what Sagarin has now dropped to the #2 toughest schedule in the entire country.

Sagarin would have Stanford by about 19.5, so the Vegas spread isn't crazy versus that.

I do fear OSU is coming around. They just played a pretty strong game vs WSU.

16.5 is more points than we scored in any of the four games prior to the AZ game.  My guess is that many betters will take the points.

Line has moved down to Stanford -14, FWIW.

Why does that mean anything? WSU probably isn't very good. They are still the team that lost to an FCS team, and they're good wins against us without either of our RBs or top corners (and who knows what else) and a collapsing UCLA team. I think Stanford fans are overrating WSU because we got shellacked by them, but half our team was hurt! Does anyone really think that we lose to them at full strength? We've already seen the difference that a healthy Meeks, Love, and McCaffrey make to this team, and it's (unsurprisingly) a ton!

That is quite possible.

On the other hand, they are currently undefeated in the Pac 12, at 5-0. OSU is 1-4. Thus I thought OSU's showing vs WSU was a positive for them.
