Jerod Haase got a warm ovation when introduced.

14-11 Stanford....but we were ahead of St. Marys in the beginning also.

Is it just me or is Kansas bigger at every position?

Went from 19-17 lead to 23-33 deficit...KU is killing us from outside and making the right extra passes. But mostly killing us from outside. Stanford offense seems hesitant and unable to create.

Deficit down to 6 after Dorian Pickens sinks a wide-open 3 :)

Stanford is not fighting around picks/screens all that energetically...KU is 7-11 from long, and Stanford is 2-5.

Sanders whistled for his third--looked non-existent to me. But KU seems longer and more aggressive at every position, and the "foul" came after a KU steal from Sanders.

35-43 at half. Haase has some young men to motivate right now...

KU is big, fast, and accurate from outside. Stanford is scrappy though. 46-58 with 14:14 to go in the game.

Both teams resorting to mid-range jumpers, but Stanford is still down 12. Annnnnd Stanford gives up an easy alley-oop.

About what I expected. Stanford is an improved team but not near the caliber of its last two opponents. That's not a criticism at all I'm really proud of how they played most of the first half.

Spread was 16, we lost by 15, so pretty much what was expected. Lets see what our new coach learns/teaches from these losses so that we can be the best we can.

The second half was nothing to write home about :( KU does seem bigger and faster. Travis had issues shooting the ball even after receiving uncommon post entry passes.

I expected a much bigger blowout, based on superior personnel and depth, so I think it's encouraging that we were credible and competitive. We need to recruit (or develop) better 3-point shooters and guards who can create off the dribble, and learn to do a better job handling the picks.

Too bad Casey Jacobsen's last year of eligibility couldn't have been kept on the back-burner until now. Apparently, he's still got game. Maybe there should be exceptions made for older folks, like they have for slowpitch softball, where if you're over X years of age, you can use Miken bats. If you're over 35, you can come back to college and use up your unused eligibility--just think of the implications for all the retired one-and-dones! (*No serious responses please. I'm only joking.) :P

Let's not overlook Reid's 19-22 on free throws: that's a worst-to-first type of performance!

Reid's free throw makes set a new school single game record. It also broke the record for number of free throw makes and attempts by a Kansas opponent.

Travis's career game was definitely great to see, especially in a big game like this one. Definitely something to build on.

I was at the game. I haven't been to any Pac arena besides Maples, but I've been a to a few other college games, and I have to say that a packed Allen Fieldhouse is a fun place to see a game (so get your tickets, Stanford returns in 2018). I arrived about an hour before tip off, and there's plenty going on if you want to learn via display cases about the history of Kansas basketball/athletics through the decades, plus a kids area with interactive exhibits.
There was supposed to have been a large Christian Sanders block of fans that I didn't see; here's the story on that in you missed it:
http://www.kansascity.com/sports/college/big-12/university-of-kansas/article118537383.html
I ended up in one of the general admission areas, with bleacher seating in a top corner of the arena. Saw a woman holding an infant; needless to say, the reputation of Kansas fans for coming out and supporting their team is well deserved. The section was packed, and I ended up standing next to the corner rafters. But the entire section stood pretty much for the entire game.
The crowd loved Haase, with everyone standing and clapping for his introduction. I heard a pre-game radio interview (radio coverage started more than two-hours before tip off), and Haase sounded choked up when he said he couldn't even put into words what his Kansas experience means to him. So the feeling is mutual.
I'd say the Kansas perspective going into the game was one of apprehension regarding the play of their bigs, and the fans I spoke with/overheard during and after the contest seemed to see things mostly through that lens.
I, of course, was greatly impressed by the play of Reid Travis. He got his second foul early in the second half and stayed in the game. For any naysayers, he showed he can hit some free throws. He's a rock.
For the team, it's sort of a mixed bag. Hard to call it a breakthrough offensive performance, and, while the defense seemed pretty good to my eyes, the scoreboard shows that Kansas shredded it.
