Rank the teams as you see fit -
OutsiderFan - 12-04-2016
I'm inviting everyone to make a list of their top teams, in order up to where Stanford should be, and one behind, in this thread. I'll start...
1. Alabama (13-0)
2. Clemson (12-1)
3. Ohio State (11-1)
4. Washington (12-1)
5. Michigan (10-2)
6. Penn State (11-2)
7. Oklahoma (10-2)
8. Wisconsin (10-3)
9. Southern Cal (9-3)
10. Florida State (9-3)
11. Oklahoma State (9-3)
12. Colorado (10-3)
13. West Virginia (10-2)
14. Louisville (9-3)
15. Western Michigan (12-0)
16. Stanford (9-3)
17. Auburn (8-4)
The committee had Stanford behind Auburn and Florida last week. I know Stanford will jump Florida this week, but based on last week's poll, I fully expect the committee to swap my #16 and #17, which I believe is absurd.

Stanford is #16 in the AP poll and the coaches' poll. We moved up one spot due to Florida's loss. We'll see where the playoff committee puts us . . . probably #17.

Auburn and Florida are both 8-4, and both are ahead of Stanford. That's just silly. Stanford is the lowest ranked 9-3 team from a Power 5 conference.Â
So if the Pac-12 is good enough to get Washington in the playoff, shouldn't 9-3 Stanford be ahead of 9-3 Oklahoma State from the Big 12 who didn't get in the playoff?
It sure looks to me that the committee inflated Auburn's ranking to make them look better in the Sugar Bowl.Â

Back to back blow out losses really hurt. Plus no signature win since USC is week 3.

And the Pac12 doesnt have any notable OOC wins, with our KSU win probably the best.

Here is a point in Stanford's favor. The team won 5 true road games this year. Only one team won more - Western Michigan.
Looks to me like the Committee spent all its time on Penn State vs. Washington for the #4 slot and then rushed through the rest of the rankings.
HisKneeWasDown - one small edit to the final rankings - Auburn is 8-4, not 9-3.

How I see fit...
Alabama
Washington
Clemson
One of the Bigs (my prefernce order would be PSU, OSU, UM)
UW @#2. What they did to Colorado. (And Wazzu--and us)
Additionally, it's hard not to feel good about the Buffaloes, but I am glad USC is playing in Pasadena. I think they have the better chance of demonstrating the PAC is not weak and the BIG invincible.

Well, in this case with numbers, anyway.
