Point of inquiry: QB coach - fullmetal - 12-05-2016
How much of an impact does a QB coach (position coach) have on the development of a QB? I was under the impression that a QB coach matters, but suddenly some friends are telling me that they're nothing but glorified cheerleaders (!!!).

Seems like the impact of the QB coach would vary over a wide range (negative, no impact, positive) based on the coach's abilities and player's willingness to work. David Cutcliffe seemed to have been a strong positive influence on Peyton Manning's development when he was his position coach at Tennessee but surely many position coaches have no impact or cause their pupils to regress.
