Chasson Randle to Knicks - Ronnietrader - 02-27-2017
After being cut by the Sixers last week, Chasson Randle -- a Carmelo Anthony favorite -- will be added to the Knicks' roster today, replacing Brandon Jennings. Although the Knicks are the most dysfunctional franchise in the NBA, this actually is a good fit.

That said, I think that this is a better place for Chasson than the 76ers. The Knicks wanted to sign Randle in the pre-season, and their coaches had nothing but positive things to say about him. But he got hurt a couple of weeks before the season started (broken orbital bone iirc), and they couldn't waste a bench spot on an injured player. Fast forward a few months, and now they are free to waive Jennings and add Randle. Hopefully he can stick around up there.

I think the Knicks need more help than the 76ers, and in that space, Randle may have a better chance to shine. If Hinkie were still with the Sixers, I would have liked to have seen Randle and Hinkie work together though...

I'm thinking that Randle is at the point where his best opportunity may not necessarily be the best team or most functional franchise, but the team that is most likely to give him some PT.

Chasson seems coachable--something I wouldn't assume Rose is...always a good trait to have when fighting for minutes.
