No free video streaming so just checked on twitter, and some serious fireworks going on in Houston. 15-5 after 5 including Brodey en fuego.
Quote:Note before reading: It is the fourth inning. Brodey's 7 RBI are the most by a Stanford player since April 2, 2011 (Brian Ragira vs. WSU)

And in case no one noticed, Stanford is ranked #12 this week. And Quinn Brodey was national player of the week last week for his walk off heroics vs. Texas.

awesome way to start the series! Supposed to pour here in Houston though the net 2 days.
can't wait to go with my three young ones to Sunday's game. Last time we saw Stanford play Rice Mark Appel's mom was nice enough to get the kids a autograph on their mini helmet.....

Nevermind on that first pitch. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, and sometimes it rains.

We split the series, taking games 1 and 4 but losing 2 and 3.
G1: 16-6 W
G2: 0-4 L
G3: 2-12 L
G4: 2-0 W
The third game was called by mercy rule (!) when the game entered the eighth inning with Rice up by 10 runs. Note that games three and four were part of the Sunday doubleheader, with game four being a seven-inning game.

Odd series.
Both teams got shut out. Both teams scored double digit runs in a game.

And the Cardinal (11-5) stay at number 12 in one of the polls:

Arizona (13-2) remains at number 9 and Oregon State (14-1) moves up to number 2.

But our RPI dropped from 29 to 41, while Rice's RPI rose from 113 to 93. I'm guessing this discrepancy will balance out as the season progresses!
