Nico gets the game winning hit in the 10th on his 20th birthday (have a DAY!) and we take the first game yesterday. Game 2 starts in 20 minutes.

Stanford also takes game 2 with a score of 8-5, with Summerville going 8.2 innings, and giving 9 a W for his 2500th game!

Baseball continues its roll, now having won 14 of the past 15 games.
This with regular starters Mikey Diekroger (3rd base) and Alex Dunlap (catcher) out with injuries; and expected pitching ace Tristan Beck never getting on the field this season.
Dunlap last played April 14 vs UCLA.
Diekroger last played May 5 vs ASU.

Seems like it will be critical to get into the top 8 to avoid any chance of serving as the west coast Super Regional pair with Oregon State.

I don't think geography is taken into consideration after the regional round. If the Beavers maintain their hold on the #1 overall seed then I believe the winner of the regional hosted by the #16 seed will head to Corvallis for the super regional (assuming OSU advances).
