Anyone heard anything about Dalyn Wade-Perry? -

Posted this question in the Training Camp thread, but nobody responded. So figured a dedicated thread might garner some discussion. Has anyone heard anything at all about Dalyn Wade-Perry? Might he have a chance to get some DL reps this season? Or like Colby Parkinson, as he already been reported to be redshirting?Â

Very little. But we rarely hear about Stanford freshmen, other than the occasional skill player like McCaffrey or Love. And Stanford defensive linemen ususally don't emerge until their third year in the program.Â

This may be true, but this doesn't mean it has to or should be this way. Wade-Perry brings a physical profile to Stanford I haven't ever seen in my lifetime. The movement skills he demonstrated on his highlight videos are rare for someone his size. I don't see DWP as a typical Stanford DL recruit. Yes, Solomon Thomas was a 5-star recruit, but he was undersized, and Harrison Phillips did play as a True Frosh - granted out of necessity not choice - with not nearly the physical abilities as Wade-Perry.
OK, so failing hearing anything about DWP, how about Bo Peek, the RS Frosh who seems to be the backup to Phillips?

Yes on Wade-Perry quite a bit but mostly that a redshirt is probable barring of course injuries. Peep, well not a Peep.Â

Peek was a push. He looked like someone who might grow into a serviceable defensive tackle/nose tackle, even if a little long-legged for the role.
Agreed that W-P was not our typical DL recruit; he's legitimately brobdingnagian and moves well for a man so big. I am betting on him, too, but expect the payoff to take some time.

A redshirt for W-P? Do the staff think that he won't be good enough to leave early then? Or that even if so, he's not seasoned enough to play this year?
