Quick schedule overview for those teams ranked ahead of us at the moment, with the number of preseason Top 25 teams in parentheses:

* #1 Alabama (4) will play #3 FSU, #12 Auburn, #13 LSU, and #25 Tennessee 
* #2 Ohio State (3) will play #6 PSU, #7 Oklahoma, and #11 Michigan
* #3 FSU (5) plays #1 Alabama, #5 Clemson, #16 Louisville, #17 Florida, and #18 Miami
* #4 SC (3) plays #14 Stanford, #23 Texas, and #24 Wazzu
* #5 Clemson (4) plays #3 FSU, #12 Auburn, #16 Louisville, and #21 Virginia Tech
* #6 Penn State (2) plays #2 Ohio State and #11 Michigan
* #7 Oklahoma (5) plays #2 Ohio State, #10 Oklahoma State, #20 Kansas State, #22 WVU, and #23 Texas
* #8 Washington (2) plays us, and it plays Wazzu.  That's it.

Easy to envision a world where the Big Ten has two Top 5 teams heading into championship weekend, and Ohio State mops the floor with a Wisconsin team whose resume is, ahem, rather lacking.

Look for N.otre Dame to make its way into the top 25 poll over the course of the season. They do play Stanford (road) and U.SC and Georgia (both at home). But their ACC schedule bypasses the top 4 teams.  They do not pay Clemson, Florida State, Louisville or Virginia Tech this season.
