ESPN Disses Stanford (and Rice) - Papa John - 08-23-2017

I was watching the Little League World Series this evening and noticed that ESPN was promoting "8 Days to CFB Kickoff." The crawl at the bottom of the screen teased the season's beginning with a mention that former Stanford RB had 8 200+ all-purpose yards games in 2016, the most in CFB that year.

That suited me fine, until I realized that Stanford-Rice kicks off in 3, not 8, days. And the network broadcasting the game is none other than... ESPN.

Perhaps the number "3" is not politically correct. There are 3 letters in "KKK", after all.

A lot of the newcomers didn't get the full experience of member attrition over such politically charged issues.  Let's just say that we don't feed the trolls on this board, and Cap Heresy, that's some prime troll bait.

How is that "politically charged"? This was directed at ESPN. Don't tell me you think ESPN's decision to replace the Robert Lee announcer is anything less than absurd. I guess I shouldn't post anything about the U.S.C. horse coming under fire for having a name similar to Robert E. Lee's horse, a bit of history that I'm sure about 99.9999% of the country didn't even know.

Nobody forces me to be politically correct. So my only choice is to read-not-post until I get slammed enough or bored enough to leave.

With all due respect, we all get more than enough discussion of Robert E. Lee and the KKK reading the news these days; the Cardboard is a sweet respite from all of that stuff, whatever your views are about it. Thus, I don't think this is a question of political correctness - I think it's a question of being "political[]," full stop. :)

Well said and agreed.
