ANY STANFORD FAN WHO TELLS ME ROSEN WOULDN'T HELP US - johnnyo53 - 09-03-2017

IS OUT OF THEIR MIND.  KID IS A GAMER WITH ALL THE TOOLS.  I WOULD ARGUE IT WITH ANY COACH TOO, FOR THAT MATTER.  HE'S LIKE JOHN BRODIE OUT THERE- TAKING A LOT OF PUNISHMENT AND STILL BRINGING IT.

BUT ROSEN WAS TOO ARROGANT AND ASSERTIVE FOR OUR PROGRAM - johnnyo53 - 09-03-2017

AYFKM?

4Q, DOWN 34PTS- 19OF26, 292YDS AND 4TDS Voldemort - johnnyo53 - 09-03-2017

AND HE WAS GETTING HAMMERED FOR 3 QUARTERS. 491 YARDS...WOW.  A CERTAIN ONE ARM EXTENDED BALL CARRIER BRONZE TROPHY WORTHY PERFORMANCE.

Did you really need to start 2 different threads about this? We already had too many.

Also, is it too much to type without the caps lock? A fourth of the home screen is all caps right now.

GET USED TO IT - Redrum - 09-03-2017

IT'S HOW HE ROLLS.

WHO PISSED IN YOUR CORNFLAKES?  IF YOU DON'T GET EXCITED BY COLLEGE FOOTBALL I CAN'T HELP YOU.

At this rate I don't think he'll be here very long. Can whatever other site contained this monstrosity go back to being functional? The signal to noise ratio here is close to zero.

There are much worse sins than ALL CAPS - Redrum - 09-03-2017

After last year with musical QBs - Redrum - 09-03-2017

(and injuries)  Rosen's self absorption doesn't seem so bad.  I think the guy is a prick but he's better than any QB on our roster right now. And the "chemistry" argument doesn't seem to extend to his current teammates.  But Hogan showed we don't have to have a Rosen to play winning football.  Might help, though.

Personally, I like Johnny's content but I absolutely abhor the presentation.  Typing in all caps forever is not a good look, and in this case, it seems to be more middle finger "deal with it" than anything else IMHO.

But yes, the Bruins, Rosen and their coaching staff stepped up big.  Both games this evening were an entertaining testament to why I dig college football over the Neffle.

He grows on you... like a fungus.

If he's not your cup of tea, at least it's easy to figure out what to ignore.

I get that it's his schtick and he doesn't care what I think. But it's still pretty obnoxious. Respectfully, could you just post like a regular person here and leave the caps lock cruise control for the bootleg?

Re: ANY STANFORD FAN WHO TELLS ME ROSEN WOULDN'T HELP US - Mick - 09-03-2017

Two thoughts:

1.  Supposedly that's why the 49ers went with Alex Smith over highest-QB-Rating-in-NFL-history Aaron Rodgers.  Supposedly Rodgers had a "little too much personality" much like Rosen.  Great for the Packers, not great for the 49ers.

2.  I genuinely say this with respect, but sometimes Stanford can be a little bit too "We're-the-greatest" for their own good.  Not all the time, not most of the time, not much of the time.  Just on occasion.  Or to put it differently, when my sons were being recruited by Harvard, Princeton, UCSD, and Stanford, the Stanford coaches were the only ones who were over the top about how terrific Stanford was relative to all other schools -- which I agree with and had already bought into, since I was a tyke.  Just seemed a wee bit superfluous.  I just wonder why we can get Luck, but we can't get Rosen.  That's all.

No, they're not F K U.  He was too arrogant.  And with the greatest of respect, perhaps a little kettle/pot issue here.

Re: ANY STANFORD FAN WHO TELLS ME ROSEN WOULDN'T HELP US - johnnyo53 - 09-03-2017

WE DAMN NEAR DIDN'T GET LUCK AND WE COULD'VE HAD ROSEN.  AND AS I SAID A COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO ON THIS BOARD, IF WE HAD ROSEN WE WOULD'VE BEEN A BETTER PROGRAM, IF FOR NO OTHER REASON THAN UCLA WOULDN'T HAVE HIM.  I DON'T THINK YOU CAN EVER HAVE TOO MANY GOOD QBS, AND I THINK QBS HAVE TO BE SELF ASSURED AND SUPREMELY SELF-CONFIDENT, IF NOT COCKY.  THAT IS NOT NECESSARILY AN OPINION SHARED BY OUR CURRENT STAFF.

WELL HIS TEAMMATES DON'T SEEM TO MIND.  HE JUST MADE MORA LOOK LIKE A GREAT HEAD COACH.  IF MORA COULD HANDLE HIM, I'D THINK OUR MORE ENLIGHTENED STANFORD TYPES COULD MANAGE HIM.  I JUST HOPE HE DOESN'T STICK IT TO US BECAUSE HE'S A NATURAL BORN KILLER OUT THERE.  AND BESIDES, WHAT WAS HE, 18 YEARS OLD WHEN ALL THOSE JUDGMENTS WERE BEING PASSED ON HIS PERSONALITY?

Point is, I don't think Mora is handling him. Mora is letting Rosen run the team and set the tone for Bruins.  Short of a 10 win season, I think Mora is gone this year.

Re: ANY STANFORD FAN WHO TELLS ME ROSEN WOULDN'T HELP US - Stymie - 09-03-2017

Let's be honest.

I interviewed ~30 random applicants to LSJU over the past 6 years and almost all of them would have been accepted if they were a *****  recruit for FB or BB, or who had won an Olympic medal or been a tennis or golf phenom.  None of the ~30  fit those profiles, and only 3 of the ~30 got admitted.  The playing field in life is not an even one.

ARE YOU TELLING ME YOU WOULDN'T WANT ROSEN ON YOUR TEAM?  JUST WIN BABY.  TIME WILL TELL IF ROSEN IS DOUG FLUTIE/OR CAPTAIN COMEBACK, OR WHETHER HE'S REALLY JUST JEFF GEORGE/JAY CUTLER.
