Blogging with our Biggest Rival - Hank 91 - 09-08-2017

I wish I could've gotten this up earlier, because there's a ton of stuff and almost five thousand words. A review of the past ten games, three video highlights, a ton of links, and guest experts from two different sites, Reign of Troy and Traveler Hates Thursdays. There's also a link to the questions I answered for Reign of Troy, as well as their podcast, where I also guested. I'd recommend the podcast. The USC information is obviously solid, but I was particularly impressed by their knowledge about Stanford. They've been paying attention. Anyway, here's the link.

Thanks as always for the perspective Hank!

Holy cow, that RoT podcast ep is ~2 hrs long...and it has commercials.

I know, I couldn't believe it. From time to time I wonder about adding a podcast to my site, but it's hard to imagine talking coherently for that long each week.

Don't worry, it's not like they spoke coherently either--some of those "over/under" answers were just the man copying the woman's answer with zero insight; totally lazy.  What can I say, I was bored, doing some work late Friday night and wanted to see what these ppl could come up with.

But they had commercials (they get paid/sponsored?), regular segments, etc. etc.  And they had some insight.  I bet you could put together an hour-long podcast each week given enough time, but it does take a lot of time to produce that kind of stuff.

With respect to the blogger takes therein -- I thought they were informative, reasonable, etc. However I disagree with one of the takes: that that game was Darnold's floor. I thought Darnold actually played well; he was hurt by his receivers and (to a lesser degree) his line. So I think Darnold *can* play much worse, though I certainly don't expect it to happen against Stanford.
