Week 2 in opponents -

Don't think any of 'em have started playing yet, but just a placeholder.

Max Browne is looking pretty solid and comfortable for Pitt, unlike the animate mannequin who took the field for SC last year. Not to reach for my snark points, but I'm beginning to think Clay Helton is *not a good coach.*

Louisville beat UNC 47-35. It was close much of the game with UNC leading entering Q4. Confirms UCB win over UNC as a quality win.

Lamar Jackson was an absolute beast in that game. Damn, he is an exciting football player.

Oregon looking good so far, although Herbert airmailed one bomb to the endzone, then underthrew one the very next play but the WR made a great play and caught it. Had the DB turned around it would've been an easy pick (then again, college DBs seem to be pretty bad at that). Freeman had one long run and one that got stuffed at the line.
Anyone see Nebraska last week? The line is apparently Oregon-14 which seems crazy to me, but if Nebraska is bad then more understandable.

Wow, first play for Nebraska the Oregon CB makes a great breakup and the safety comes down with the ball off of it. Two plays later Oregon's inside the 10. This might get ugly really fast.

After two stuffs I was thinking Oregon would have to settle for a field goal, then Herbert floated a dime to the corner of the end zone that the WR hauled in. If Nebraska doesn't get a TD here this game might be over in the first. Oregon is looking awfully good.

Oregon D is swarming right after Nebraska's run game. Look totally unafraid of the pass.

I only started watching after it was 14-0, but from the past few minutes, Oregon had a quick offensive sputter, and Nebraska has driven on them pretty easily. The Oregon DEs look athletic but skinny.
Nebraska just scored on a nice long throw in spite of defensive PI. Looks like it could be a game after all.

Nebraska scores on a long drive -- seems like the Huskers did most of their damage in the air. Neither Nebraska's QB nor receivers appear all that threatening to me, but Mike Riley knows how to make the most of solid offensive talent.

Well Nebraska just scored on a nice pass, so maybe the Oregon D should be worried?
That being said, Oregon has looked good, especially the first couple drives.

Today's Oregon's helmets are basically silver reflective mirrors. It probably won't happen, but it would be super-cool if an opposing DB could track the path of a ball in the reflection and use it to snag an interception.

That was a really nice toss from Herbert into the opening of the zone there. He's got a good arm.
Re: Week 2 in opponents -

Nebraska's cooking now (on offense). Knocking on the door for a TD.
Re: Week 2 in opponents -
stupac2 - 09-09-2017
This is going to be a shootout. Oregon's run defense still looks porous.

Yeah not much defense seen

Herbert has looked pretty awesome this far. Strong arm, accurate deep, good decisions. And only a sophomore. Darnit.
Re: Week 2 in opponents -
washingtonismoney - 09-09-2017
Yup. Oregon's defense doesn't look quite *good* yet but their offense (appears to be) so awesome it doesn't matter. Then again, Nebraska gave up 35 points to Arkansas State, so it (appears) that the Huskers are hapless defensively.

Oregon just intercepted NEbraska a second time, and already up 35-14 with a couple minutes left till halftime, the ducks have a chance to put in a dagger.

I switched to the TCU-Arkansas game after that last score, there's no way this gets competitive again. Oregon's offense sure looks good, their defense is still questionable.
Anyone know what's going on with Cal being tied with Weber State? My in-laws apparently don't get the Pac-12 network, I'll need to figure out a way to get those games...
