Powder blues, 31
I'll be drinking a lot of coffee so I can watch the entire game.

Anyone's guess is as good as mine, and we certainly could lose this game, but I think there is a tendency to get too negative when we hit bumps (OK large bumps) in the road.
So I'm calling it
Good guys 34
Team with the Cardboard's favorite QB 31
(My gawd, you can't even say the C.ardboard without the software substituting for it these days).

First time in my years on this board predicting a Stanford loss - likely won't be the last time this season. I have lost faith in our offensive coaching staff
Stanford 38
UCLA 45

Well, if we are putting 38 on the board and losing, it sounds like you have lost faith in our defensive coaching staff more than the offense.
Re: UCLA predictions -
BostonCard - 09-18-2017
Well, so far this season, UCLA has given up 38.3 ppg, so he is in essence saying that our offense is comparable to a composite of Texas A&M, Hawaii, and Memphis, the 39th, 50th, and 21st ranked teams in scoring offense. By way of comparison, not adjusting for opponent quality, we are ranked 47th in scoring offense.
UCLA has scored 48.7 ppg, so winflop is saying our defense is marginally better than UCLA's three opponents.
But I agree that predicting 38 points is not exactly saying you've lost faith in our coaching staff, unless you really have a low opinion of UCLA's defense.

I suppose you could make an argument that UCLA's offense is so strong and their defense so weak that a 45-38 loss to them would be more on our offense than on our defense.
Still struck me as a bit of an odd statement to make, though.

I will likely be downvoted for this, but until I see something that resembles a cohesive offensive game plan all 4 quarters, consistent pass blocking and quarterback play, I feel gloom and see doom.Â

I don't know why anyone would be voted down for making a gloomy prediction, especially in the current context. I should hope that nobody panned Mick for predicting SDSU would win last week.
I
might vote you down, however, for referring to us as "University of Stanford". JK about the downvote, but... ugh.

"University of Stanford."Â Ouch.

I'm not going to downvote you, but I gotta tell you that's the gloomiest prediction (by perhaps an order of magnitude) I have seen since the C.ardboard started this little exercise.
I mean, we are not a good team right now, but I really don't think we are
that bad.

I have no idea how we are going to get 31.

Two pick-sixes and a punt return for a touchdown gets us to 21. I think the offense can manage 10.

I'll predict we get back to winning with the secondary playing up to expectations and regression to the mean on offense.Â

University of Stanford was pretty bad. In my defense I hadn't yet had the morning coffee and was feeling not only gloomy, but fogged.Â
Regardless, Go Cardinals!
