JJAW returns as starter at WR. Chryst is the clear starter at QB. Phillips and Kalambayi listed as starters even though they will sit out 1H.
Perhaps most notably, Simmons OR Buncom will start at safety. Simmons was clear starter last week. Don't know if that is performance or injury.

I think Maddox returned/fielded a punt against Utah. But Tyler is still listed as the returner. Hopefully whoever is back there can avoid a mistake.

In past years it often seemed as if no one was really paying much attention to depth charts, and they weren't updated regularly.
This year there appears to be significant meaning in subtle changes - largely dominated by the word "or" coming an going.
Last week JJAW was listed as starting, but with an or for Stewart.
Last week there was an or with Chryst and Costello.
This week the or appeared for Buncom and Simmons.
Kalambayi and Phillips remain, so I guess this is the depth chart for the second half.
FWIW Buncom started vs Utah (in a nickel formation with Edwards in as well). Buncom got in on 3 tackles, while Simmons didn't find the stat sheet.

Stats for DBs tend to be misleading because if a guy does his job in coverage and his man is never targeted, nothing shows on the stat line.
Having said that, Simmons is credited with 21 total tackles and Buncom 14. I cant find any indication of minutes or snaps played. And special teams tackles are included there. And lots of times a guy can blow up a play and not get credit for the tackle. But my gut impression is that Simmons is better at run support, so maybe thats why hes moving up the depth chart.

Eh, good corners will still contribute on tackles on screens or boundary runs or whatever. Sherman is brobdingnagian in the run game for the Seahawks, or at least it seems that way whenever I watch them.

I think Simmons is moving down the depth chart.

I think Simmons is moving down the depth chart.

Still a special teams beast though. I think he has one more year of eligibility left, so hopefully something clicks or else he'll need to carve out a ST niche in the NFL a la Johnson Bademosi.

It also says Alfieri is at ILB, but I thought he played mostly (maybe all?) at OLB.
Speaking of ILB, I am really impressed with Okereke. He just missed some spectacular tackles behind the LOS, otherwise he'd have some gaudier stats. He's improving so much every game. We should let everyone wear #20.

I saw Alfieri play both inside and outside this past week

Id be curious to see snaps played. Alfieri is listed second team. But he sure seems to be on the field a majority of the time.
Also Malik Antoine seems to be getting more and more time. Given that their top 4 corners will all probably be gone next year (unless Alexander can get a medical redshirt) glad he's getting some time.

Hoping Alfieri pushes forward against the Quacks, as he had a big game against them last year and he's from the state of Oregon.
